Department of Support and Development of Medical Services discusses with visiting Italian team areas of health cooperation.

Tripoli, December 18, 2023 (Lana) Head of Department of Support and Development of Medical Services, Ahmed Militan, accompanied by the Director General of the Administrative Centers Development and Support Authority, Ibrahim Taketeh, held yesterday an expanded meeting at the authority’s headquarters with the Italian medical delegation representing the Italian “Sendonato” group, which arrived on Saturday in Tripoli and includes an elite group of specialists in several areas in the health sector.

The Department stated that the two sides agreed on building a hospital with high specifications, operating in accordance with the highest internationally agreed standards, and also discussed the needs and shortcomings of the health sector in Libya.

It added that Dr. Militan stressed the need to implement the project within a short period in order to contribute to improving work efficiency, saving time and effort, improving the quality of health care, and communication between doctors, nurses, administrative authorities, and patients in an easier and faster manner, noting that this meeting comes to strengthen the Department’s plans for a project to localize treatment inside.

The meeting was attended by a number of directors of hospitals and health centers and an accompanying team from the Department of Support and Development of Medical Services, with the participation of the General National Authority for Transplantation of Organs, Tissues, and Cells, the National Cancer Control Authority, and the Libyan Company for Managing Participation Projects with the Sector (PPP).
