Tripoli, 16 December 2023 (Lana) The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq El-Kaber, met with the U.S. Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, and Chargé d'Affaires Berndt.
According to a tweet by the U.S., the meeting discussed the importance of CBL’s technocratic integrity and independence in managing Libya's financial resources, including the critical issue of flood reconstruction.
They highlighted that effectively addressing the needs of Derna and other affected communities will require a unified, transparent, and expert-driven approach, with cooperation from international institutions, including the World Bank and the United Nations.
