The Preparatory Committee for National Reconciliation agrees to hold the comprehensive National Reconciliation Conference in the city of Sirte next April.

Sebha, December 14, 2023 (LANA) - The third regular meeting of the Preparatory Committee for the Inclusive Conference for National Reconciliation was concluded in the city of Sebha, today, Thursday afternoon, headed by the representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, responsible for the reconciliation file in the Presidential Council, and with the participation of the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Francophone. Jean-Claude Jacosseau, the African Union Advisor for National Reconciliation, Mohamed Hassan Al-Labbad, and members of the Preparatory Committee representing all the main parties participating in the political process.

The media office of the Presidential Council reported that during this meeting, it was unanimously agreed to choose the city of Sirte to hold the comprehensive national conference for national reconciliation, and to set the twenty-eighth of April of next year as the date for it, and to determine the mechanism for forming the preparatory committee to organize the conference, and to determine its powers and internal regulations.

The attendees also decided to hold the next preparatory meeting of the Preparatory Committee in the city of Zuwara at the end of this month.
