Al-Manfi discusses with the representative of the World Bank in Libya the file for reconstruction of Derna.

Tripoli, 13 December (Lana) President of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohamed Al-Menfi, received yesterday at the council’s headquarters the representative of the World Bank in Libya, Henriette von.

According to Al-Menfi’s office, the meeting discussed the file of reconstruction of Derna and affected areas by floods and benefiting from the experiences of the Bank on reconstruction, the necessity of a comprehensive survey of the damages to the affected areas, and the role of the PC in the success of reconstruction plans, as well as the governance and transparency of spending on development and reconstruction programs.

Al-Menfi stressed the importance of the bank's technical support for the reconstruction plans for the affected areas in terms of studies, statistics, assessments of the extent of the damage, and the need for reconstruction to be under Libyan ownership and leadership.
