Al-Lafi receives the Canadian Ambassador to Libya

Tripoli, December 12, 2023 (LANA) - Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, received today, Tuesday, at the Council’s headquarters, the Ambassador of Canada to Libya, “Isabelle Savard,” to discuss bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them.

The ambassador praised the pioneering role of the Presidential Council in the national reconciliation file and its distinguished success as a sovereign, non-aligned institution that works with all parties and maintains consensus.

Al-Afi stressed his appreciation for the Canadian vision on addressing the political impasse in Libya, indicating that the Presidential Council is ready to engage in any political initiative that leads to any progress in the political path towards the elections and ensures the involvement of everyone to solve all the real problems that prevent achieving complete stability in the country.
