Batili briefs party leaders on his efforts to hold a meeting with the main Libyan parties to reach a consensus on issues hindering the electoral process.
Pulbished on:Benghazi, December 12, 2023 (LANA) - The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, “Abdullah Batili,” met yesterday, Monday, in the city of Benghazi, with an elite group of Libyan party leaders and representatives.
“Batili” said in a post he wrote on his account on the (X) platform, “I informed the party leaders of my assessment of the current political scene and explained to them my ongoing efforts to hold a meeting with the main Libyan parties to reach a consensus on the issues that hinder the electoral process.”
He added, “I emphasized the pivotal role of political parties in shaping the future of Libya and encouraged their active and positive participation in this important process.”
In his post, Batili referred to party leaders and representatives, who during the meeting reviewed their views and highlighted their future political, economic and social priorities.
