Libya and Tunisia are discussing activating the memorandum of understanding.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 29, 2023 (LANA) - The Minister of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed, met today, Wednesday, with the Tunisian Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Abdelkader Al-Jamali, and his accompanying delegation.
The Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation stated that the meeting discussed mechanisms for joint cooperation in the field of work and vocational rehabilitation, through activating the memorandum of understanding signed between the two ministries.
During the meeting held at the Ministry's office in Tripoli, Al-Abed stressed the depth of the historical fraternal relations between the two countries.
For his part, the Tunisian Minister of Employment appreciated the role of the Ministry of Labor in organizing the labor market and settling the conditions of foreign workers, including Tunisian workers.
The Tunisian minister appreciated Libya's role in activating joint action mechanisms at the level of the Community of Sahel-Saharan countries, given the economic importance that the labor file represents.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to prepare for a ministerial meeting to activate the terms of the memorandum and electronic connectivity, to regulate the labor market in the two countries, reduce irregular migration, prepare trainers, and exchange experiences in the field of vocational training and qualification.
