A dialogue session : legal framework for the electoral process.

   Tripoli, November 29, 2023  (LANA) - Today, Wednesday, the High National Elections Commission organized a dialogue session entitled The Legal Framework for the Electoral Process (Standards of Election Integrity and Credibility).

     The activities of the dialogue session were attended by the Chairman of the Commission’s Council, Dr. Imad Al-Sayeh, Council Member, Abdul-Hakim Al-Shaab, and an elite group of academics and researchers in the legal and media fields, at the Commission’s media center.

      In a speech at the opening of the session, Al-Sayeh explained the impact of the quality of electoral laws on the success of the electoral process and the quality of its outcomes, referring to previous electoral processes implemented by the Commission, and the strenuous efforts it made in dealing with legal loopholes.

       In his speech, Al-Sayeh noted the need for the legislator to return to the Commission to seek guidance from its opinion on the technical points related to implementation, so that the electoral process does not reach a dead end.
