Minister of Finance meets with a delegation from the African Development Bank.

Tripoli, November 22, 2023 (Lana): The GNU Minister of Finance, Khaled Al-Mabrouk, met yesterday with a high-level delegation from the African Development Bank (ADB).

Al-Mabrouk commended the important role played by the ADB in Libya through its support for projects that included the water, transportation, and transport sectors and support for small and medium enterprises, in addition to its support for the public finance reform project and the shift towards digitization in the financial sector.

For her part, Malin Blomberg, Deputy Director General of the Regional Office of the Bank in the North Region and head of the delegation, praised the efforts of the Ministry aimed at creating a strong partnership with the Bank to support the public and private sectors and enable them to benefit from possible investment and development opportunities in various sectors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, three agreements were signed for technical assistance in the following areas:

supporting the Ministry of Finance in the area of public finance reform and the shift towards digital systems.

emergency support to Libyan regions and cities affected by Hurricane Daniel.

providing support in the area of preparing and implementing a strategy for food security in Libya.
