Heads of the House of Representatives' standing committees protest Britain's position on the war on Gaza

Benghazi, November 20, 2023 (LANA) - The heads of the permanent committees of the House of Representatives expressed, on Monday, their protest against the British position in support of Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza.

This came during a meeting between the heads of those committees and the new British ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in Benghazi.

The meeting included heads of committees: regulatory agencies, energy, natural resources, health, economy and trade, the rapporteur of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee, and a member of the Displaced Persons Affairs Committee.

The spokesman for the House of Representatives said that the meeting discussed the latest developments in the political situation in Libya, the electoral laws that were completed by the 6+6 Committee, and the failure of the UN mission and the international community to take it seriously in order to achieve the will of the Libyan people by holding presidential and parliamentary elections as soon as possible.

The heads of the parliamentary committees called on the British government to support the efforts of the House of Representatives to form a unified government across the entire Libyan territory, whose primary mission is to hold presidential and parliamentary elections.
