Pulbished on:New York, November 18, 2023 (LANA) - Libya’s representative to the United Nations, Al-Tahir Al-Sunni, confirmed that the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip will remain a stain on the faces of everyone who participated in it, supported it, or remained silent about it, regardless of the justifications.
Al-Sunni, who spoke on behalf of the Arab and Islamic Group in the United Nations General Assembly, reaffirmed the Arab Group’s support for the Palestinian people and their presence in their land, warning against any attempts at forced displacement, confronting attempts to spread the crisis to neighboring countries.
Al-Sunni called for the protection of civilians and the provision of safe humanitarian corridors that allow them to move around the Gaza Strip and return to their homes, without being exposed to any harm, in accordance with the laws of the United Nations and the Geneva Convention.
Al-Sunni continued, “In the same context, we also reiterate and affirm our condemnation of what is happening in the forgotten West Bank, which is witnessing an escalation in systematic and continuous attacks by the occupation forces.” The Israeli and extremist settler groups, and we point out in this regard that these actions will not stop, as long as the occupation forces hear from Some provide justifications for the crimes they commit, without any accountability.
