Tripoli, November 16, 2023 (LANA) - The UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, met in the capital, Tripoli, on Wednesday evening, with members of the Libyan Association for Political Science and International Law.
“During the meeting, I listened with interest to their opinions on the current political crisis, and their suggestions on ways to move forward towards peace, stability, and legitimization of national institutions,” Batili said in a post on the “X” platform.
The UN envoy added, “We also discussed the role of academics in overcoming the existing crisis, and how political leaders can benefit from their expertise.”
According to the same source, Batili stressed the importance of having enforceable electoral laws to enable free and comprehensive elections to be held.
