The United Nations and Tunisia stress the need for political parties to meet to reach an agreement on the controversial issues related to the elections.

Tripoli, November 16, 2023 (LANA) - The United Nations and Tunisia stressed the need for the main political parties to meet to reach a political agreement on all outstanding issues related to the elections.

This came during a meeting between the UN envoy, Abdullah Batili, on Wednesday evening, with the Tunisian ambassador to Libya, Al-Asaad Al-Ajili, to exchange views on the current situation in Libya, according to what Batili announced through his account on the “X” platform.

  According to the same source, Batili praised “Tunisia’s continued commitment to the stability of Libya, and its active role in mitigating the negative effects of the Libyan crisis on the humanitarian situation in the region.”

      During the meeting, the UN envoy also quoted Ambassador Al-Ajili as confirming that his country supports the efforts made by the United Nations in Libya.
