This came during a meeting held in the presence of the First Vice President of the High Council of State, the Vice President of the National Unity Government, and a number of government ministers from the south, according to the Media Office of the Presidential Council.

The media office explained that the meeting addressed the situation in the southern regions, which were affected by all the crises that Libya experienced during the past years, which led to a decline in the level of services in many areas.

The attendees also discussed the repercussions of the events taking place in neighboring countries, which will negatively affect Fezzan, and the demographics of the region, such as smuggling, due to weak border security.

The media office added that the attendees stressed the necessity of working to bring about spatial development in the south that contributes to its stability, with Fezzan obtaining its share of the country’s wealth, just like other regions, for its development and reconstruction, especially the city of Murzuq, which all successive governments did not pay attention to, and they stressed the necessity of the displaced people returning to the city and rebuilding it. .

For his part, Batili stressed that everything that was proposed during the meeting is a fundamental matter and a legitimate right for the regions of the south, which are part of Libya, in reference to the mission’s efforts to unify its regions so that Fezzan gets its share in development and reconstruction, according to the media office of the Presidential Council.

Batili also stressed the need to unify the efforts of the country's leaders through a unified government that aims to achieve stability that contributes to the reconstruction of the south, its development, and the distribution of the country's resources fairly to ensure the unity of Libya and to devote efforts to holding elections whose results are agreed upon by all parties, according to the media office.
