Central Bank and the International Monetary Fund discuss financial stability of the Libyan state and the 2024 budget.

Tunisia, November 14, 2023 (LANA) - Preliminary meetings for Article 4 consultations for the year 2024 with the International Monetary Fund’s expert mission continued in the Tunisian capital for the second day in a row, and will continue until November 16.

The Central Bank of Libya stated that these meetings, which were held in the presence of the bank’s team and representatives of the Ministries of Finance, Economy and Trade, Planning, Labor and Rehabilitation, the National Oil Corporation, and the Audit Bureau, were devoted to discussing several topics, the most important of which were the repercussions of the Derna flood disaster and the cities of Jabal al-Akhdar, reconstruction efforts.

As well as estimating inflation rates, revenues in 2023, and budget prospects for 2024, also discussing the transparency of fuel subsidies, diversification of revenues, and reform of subsidies, taxes, and customs.
