Tripoli, November 14, 2023 (Lana): The Head of the Government of National Unity, Abdul-Hamid Al-Dbaiba, expressed his government’s commitment to hold the elections as soon as possible and to provide the necessary support to implement them in accordance with fair laws.

This came during his meeting yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tripoli with the Head of UNSMIL, Abdoulaye Bathily, to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya.

The PM stressed support for the efforts of UNSMIL, praising Bathily’s initiatives to resolve the Libyan crisis and reach the elections in accordance with fair and impartial laws.

Al-Dbaiba stressed the importance of supporting the work of the High Finance Committee and its efforts to achieve transparency and disclosure in government spending and to ensure fair distribution of revenues.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Director of the Foreign Affairs Department of the Council of Ministers, Al-Taher Al-Baour; the Minister of State for Council of Ministers, Adel Gomaa, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, and the spokesman for the PM and Council of Ministers, Mohamed Hamouda.
