Dbaiba meets with the new UK ambassador to Libya.

Tripoli, November 08, 2023 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dbaiba, met today, Wednesday, with the new British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden..

During the meeting, Al-Dbaiba affirmed the position of the Libyan people and the government on what is happening in Gaza and their support for the Palestinian people in their just demands, stressing the need to intensify international efforts in supporting Libya to hold presidential and parliamentary elections in accordance with a permanent constitution for the country.

For his part, Ambassador Martin expressed his country's support for local and international efforts to stabilize Libya and hold elections in accordance with fair and agreed-upon laws, and the plan of the UN envoy Abdullah Batili regarding the Libyan file in all its aspects.

During the meeting, they discussed the full return of the British Embassy to work from Tripoli, after its partial return, and the further facilitation of visa procedures for Libyans and the activation of economic, technical and educational cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting discussed the embassy’s contribution to facilitating the procedures for new delegates in the government’s plan in terms of admission and visas to choose the United Kingdom as a destination for their studies in accordance with our government’s platform.
