The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Libya demands an immediate end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 2, 2023 (LANA) - The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Libya, “Mohammed Rahal,” called for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and for decisive international intervention that would lead to negotiations and a just and lasting peace settlement.
In a press conference held at the headquarters of the Embassy of the State of Palestine today, Thursday, Rahal stressed the necessity of allowing humanitarian and food aid to enter the Gaza Strip, stopping the policy of racist displacement and forced displacement, and stopping the policy of double standards in dealing when it comes to the State of Palestine and its legitimate rights.
Rahal began his speech by referring to the painful and unfortunate anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which is being celebrated today, stressing that everyone knows what is happening in Palestine and what it is exposed to in light of the international inability to stop this blatant attack with the support of some countries that claim to protect civilians.
The ambassador explained that the Palestinian people are struggling to obtain their rights in light of the ongoing suffering, massacres over 75 years of occupation protected and supported by some great powers that claim democracy, freedom and humanity.
“Rahal” stated that the Palestinian people object to massacres in the ears of the entire world without deterrence or accountability, pointing out that all of these massacres are documented, archived, and recognized by international and humanitarian bodies, reviewing what the occupation forces have carried out during the past years of storming Al-Aqsa Mosque, which Hundreds of martyrs and wounded were killed before the eyes of the international community.
The ambassador referred to some sequences of events and peace initiatives, indicating that the occupation forces' response to this was to continue settlement, arrest, violate international conventions and resolutions, and commit massacres, killing children and women.
"Rahal" pointed out that the Gaza Strip has an area of 360 square kilometers and a population of about 2 million people. It is suffering, destroyed, besieged, and ethnic cleansing is being practiced on it. He explained that Israel has used internationally prohibited weapons on a small geographical area.
During the conference, the ambassador presented statistics from the Ministry of Health about the number of martyrs, which amounted to approximately 9,000 martyrs, most of whom were women and children, and more than 24,000 wounded.
Rahal confirmed that the Israeli aggression resulted in the destruction of 221 educational institutions, 34,000 residential units, and 35 hospitals that were out of service, noting that 55 percent of the health sector had stopped working.
