Signing a contract to connect Libya to the Medusa submarine cable.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, November 02, 2023 (LANA) - A contract was signed in Tripoli today, Thursday, to connect Libya to the “Medusa” submarine cable, the largest project of its kind in the Mediterranean region, which aims to connect the countries of the northern and southern Mediterranean with high-speed internet that will benefit private individuals and scientific research centers in the region.
The contract was signed by the Director of Libya International United Telecommunications Company and the CEO of Medusa Company.
The Medusa submarine cable is distinguished by its ability to respond to the various challenges facing submarine cable networks and its flexibility in exchanging data and dealing with the rapid growth of the population.
The user in Libya will be able to ensure the safety of his information, the access of information available to him via the Internet as quickly as possible, and the benefit of major and emerging Libyan companies from access to global markets and the promotion of electronic commerce.
The contract used in Libya also enables access and interconnection with southern European countries and stimulates economic growth in the northern and southern Mediterranean countries.
