Search for Missing Persons continues in Derna.

Derna, November 01, 2023 (LANA) - The General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons announced the exhumation of 66 bodies from the Al-Dhahr Al-Ahmar cemetery, buried during the torrents and floods that swept the stricken city of Derna.
The authority explained on its Facebook page that its specialized teams are continuing their work entrusted to them based on a mandate from the Public Prosecutor’s Office to exhume the bodies that were buried during the flood period and take samples and conduct DNA analyzes from them to facilitate identifying them before re-completing their burial procedures.
The Authority indicated that its specialized teams took reference samples from 60 bodies, and buried 65 bodies in the Hurricane Daniel martyrs’ cemetery in Al-Fatayeh Cemetery after taking legal procedures and legal aspects.
