Al-Magarif discusses with the Italian Ambassador efforts to teach the Italian language.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, October 31, 2023 (Lana): Minister of Education Mousa Al-Magarif discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Gianluca Alberini, efforts to teach Italian in Libya as an optional language for the secondary education stage.
During a meeting held yesterday, the two parties discussed cooperation in qualifying a number of Libyan professors in the area of teaching Italian in Libya, as well as the possibility of signing a new agreement to continue the program of teaching the language.
Al-Magarif confirmed the ministry’s readiness to open greater prospects of cooperation to serve the educational process and discussed the possibility of granting high school graduates the opportunity to enroll in Italian universities to receive their university education in the area of the Italian language.
For his side, Alberini revealed the embassy’s efforts to open the Italian Cultural Institute in Libya to teach the Italian language, discussing the Italian side’s cooperation in training a number of Libyan professors in Venice and Siena in the area of teaching the Italian language.
In conclusion, Al-Magarif and Alberini granted certificates of participation in the training course to 30 students of the second batch who received their education at the Italian University of Siena last February.
It is noteworthy that the first batch of trainees included 56 Libyan students, and they received their training at Ca'Foscari University in Venice, Italy.
