(Al-Dabaiba) discusses with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister ways to enhance the level of economic cooperation between the two countries.

Tripoli, October 30, 2023 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, “Abdulhamid Dabaiba,” received, this Monday afternoon, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, “Ahmed Yildiz,” and the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, “Kanaan Yilmaz.”

      Government sources stated that the meeting discussed a number of common local and international issues, and ways to enhance the level of economic cooperation between the two countries.

     During the meeting, it was announced that permission was granted to open the Turkish consulate in Benghazi to begin implementing the technical and administrative procedures to launch its work, in addition to discussing a number of procedures agreed upon during the Prime Minister’s visit to Turkey, the most important of which is exempting citizens of the two countries from visas, and facilitating the procedures for the residency of Libyans in Turkey who are students, patients and businessmen, and the return of Turkish Airlines to work in Libya.

      The sources added that the meeting also reviewed means of coordination in the Derna reconstruction file, as the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister confirmed the readiness of Turkish companies to cooperate in this regard.

         The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, the Director of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Department in the Council of Ministers, and the President’s Advisor for Foreign and Security Affairs.
