Tripoli, October 29, 2023 (LANA) - The President of the Presidential Council, Muhammad Al-Manfi, met this Sunday afternoon with the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister, “Ahmed Yildiz,” in the presence of the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, “Kanaan Yilmaz.”

The Presidential Council's media office reported that the meeting discussed the painful events that Gaza is going through and the need to unify efforts to stop the aggression and take steps to protect the Palestinian people, lift the siege, and deliver humanitarian aid to the residents of the Gaza Strip.

The meeting also discussed developments in the political situation in Libya, and stressed the need to reach a national consensus on the remaining outstanding issues. Aspects of cooperation between the two countries were also discussed in various fields, including the resumption of Turkish Airlines’ flights between the two countries.

According to the media office, the Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister stressed the depth of relations between Turkey and Libya, and Turkey’s readiness to contribute to the reconstruction of the city of Derna and the areas affected by torrents and floods, and to support the Supreme Financial Committee as a model for unifying institutions in Libya.
