Washington, October 28, 2023 (LANA) - On Friday evening, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), adopted a draft Arab resolution calling for an immediate humanitarian truce to stop the hostilities practiced by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip.
The vote was in favor of the resolution by a majority of 120 members, while 14 members opposed it, and 45 members abstained from voting. It calls for an immediate, permanent and sustainable humanitarian truce that leads to a cessation of hostilities and the provision of basic goods and services to civilians throughout Gaza immediately and without hindrance, according to the official website of the United Nations.
