Libya confirms at the meeting of the Arab Transport Ministers Council its intention to develop the transport sector
Pulbished on:Cairo, October 26, 2023 (LANA) - Libya participated in the meetings of the Council of Arab Ministers for Transport and the meetings of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers for Transport, which were held at the headquarters of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt.
Libya was represented at the meetings by a delegation headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transportation, Wissam Khalifa Al-Idrissi, and the membership of the Head of the Land Transport Authority, Ahmed Ibrahim Abu Wadan, and the Minister Plenipotentiary of the Libyan Delegation in Egypt, Salah Salem Margin.
The meetings discussed mechanisms for enhancing joint Arab action in the field of transportation, developing transportation systems and transporting goods and passengers, and ways to develop and enhance cooperation between the GCC countries.
Al-Idrissi confirmed that the Ministry of Transportation in Libya is working to develop the transportation sector in all its forms, despite the current circumstances it is going through.
He also affirmed the Ministry's intention to continue working, relying on national expertise, to secure what the transport sector requires in terms of a sound operational and legislative environment that keeps pace with regional and international developments and changes.
The meeting was an occasion in which the head of the Libyan delegation, Wissam Al-Idrissi, affirmed Libya’s firm and supportive position for the Palestinian people and condemned the Zionist aggression against Gaza and the accompanying brutal practices that led to the loss of the lives of innocent children and women and the destruction of hospitals, civil institutions and infrastructure.
