Libyan-Italian working group concerned with security affairs holds its third meeting in Rome.
Pulbished on:Rome, October 26, 2023 (LANA) - The Libyan-Italian working group concerned with security affairs held its third meeting in the city of Rome yesterday, Wednesday, headed by the Director of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation on the Libyan side, and the Director of the General Administration of Immigration and Border Police on the Italian side, and in the presence of heads of agencies and directors of departments.
The meeting discussed the issues of illegal immigration, securing land and sea borders, training and rehabilitation, and supporting the Libyan side to develop its capabilities in combating crime of all kinds.
The joint working team reached agreements, including Italy’s continued support for the Libyan agencies concerned with combating illegal immigration, protecting borders and securing sea coasts, implementing training courses to develop the capabilities of the Libyan side.
As well as identifying direct contact points to exchange information about human trafficking gangs, in addition to programming a visit by Italian experts to the Technical training School at the General Administration, in preparation for the localization of training in Libya to benefit the largest possible number of Libyan police members.
