America encourages the Libyan people to make progress toward stability and national reconciliation.

Washington, October 25, 2023 (Lana): US Assistant Secretary of State Anne Witkowsky encouraged the Libyan parties to make progress toward stability and national reconciliation, including through the participation of women and other historically underrepresented or marginalized groups, as integral elements of the development and peacebuilding process, stressing her country's continued support for Libyan institutions and individuals in their work for peace, prosperity, and democratic representation for all Libyans.

This came during a diplomatic American visit to Tripoli, accompanied by US Special Envoy to Libya Ambassador Richard Norland, on October 10.

According to a press statement by the US State Department on Tuesday, Witkowsky also met with the Presidential Council and other Libyan officials to welcome the continued input and participation of Libyan partners while progress continues on implementing the US strategy to prevent conflict and enhance stability in Libya.
