Dabaiba and the Turkish Foreign Minister confirm their support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya to hold elections and end the transitional stages.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, October 22, 2023 (LANA) - The Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, affirmed their support for the efforts of the UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, to hold elections in accordance with fair and impartial laws and end the transitional stages in the country.
This came during the meeting held between them this evening at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, the Prime Minister, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the conclusions of the results of the Cairo and Riyadh meetings regarding the recent events in Gaza, stressing their support for the efforts of Islamic countries in the cause of the Palestinian people, and the necessity of providing protection and support to them, according to what the Prime Minister’s Media Office published on its official Facebook page.
The two sides reviewed a number of files that were agreed upon with the Turkish President, the most important of which was the return of Turkish airlines, addressing residency problems for Libyans in Turkey, and canceling visas between the two countries from the Libyan side and the Turkish side.
The meeting also touched on discussing the reconstruction file in Derna and neighboring municipalities, where the Turkish Foreign Minister expressed that his country is ready to contribute and participate in this file.
