Libyan Customs and its Turkish counterpart agree on a working mechanism to activate the customs agreement signed in 2014.

Ankara, October 19, 2023  (LANA) - Director General of the Customs Authority, Major General Suleiman Ali Salem, agreed with his Turkish counterpart on a working mechanism to activate the customs agreement on mutual administrative cooperation signed between the two parties in 2014, through diplomatic channels. ‏

This came during the meeting held at the headquarters of the Turkish Ministry of Commerce in the capital, Ankara, between the delegations of the Customs Authority of the two countries, according to what was published on the website of the Libyan Customs Authority.

Minutes of a meeting were signed between the two sides to activate the exchange of information and cooperation in implementing training activities to raise the efficiency of members of the Customs Authority.

The meeting discussed the important role played by customs in facilitating the movement of goods, protecting consumers, and enhancing economic security between the two countries.
