Tripoli, October 18, 2023 (LANA) - The government appointed by the House of Representatives denounced in the strongest terms the continuation of the Israeli aggression against Gaza, and the silence of the international community, especially the major powers and the UN Security Council, regarding the incident of its bombing of the Baptist Hospital in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the martyrdom of more than “500” martyrs.

The government said in a statement published on Tuesday on its Facebook page, “The Israeli occupation targeted the hospital, which was the last safe haven for the people of Gaza,” noting that despite the clarity of the coordinates of hospitals that are internationally forbidden to be targeted in wars, the Zionists did not exempt them from bombing and aggression.

The government added that it is “following with regret the course of the brutal attack on the civilians of the stricken Gaza Strip, and the use of force against them without stopping or giving the Red Crescent and the Red Cross an opportunity to treat the injured and retrieve the bodies of the victims from under the rubble. The Zionist entity used all types of weapons, even the forbidden. It was used internationally against our people in Gaza and imposed a deadly siege on the Strip, even targeting relief convoys".

In its statement, the government expressed its mercy for the souls of the martyrs, and prayed for a speedy recovery for the wounded, and for victory for Gaza, God willing, over this brutal aggression.

The government appointed by the representatives called on the international community, international organizations and institutions to urgently assume their responsibilities to stop the aggression and war crimes committed by the Zionists without any deterrence or respect for international or moral treaties or conventions.
