Libya's representative to the United Nations calls on the Security Council to remove the names of individuals from the sanctions list

New York, October 16, 2023 (LANA) - Libya’s representative to the United Nations, Al-Tahir Al-Sunni, on Monday, called on the UN Security Council to remove the names of several individuals from the list of the Council’s sanctions committee related to Libya and not to politicize this file.
Al-Sunni said in his speech during the UN Security Council session on Libya that Libya hopes to build on the positive signs shown by some Security Council countries in dealing with the file and responding to Libya’s repeated requests in this regard.
Libya's representative to the United Nations indicated that Libya's demand to remove the names of several individuals from the sanctions list comes for humanitarian reasons or because there is no reason for their presence in the first place.
