GNU decides to form a committee to study legal situation of expatriate workers.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, 11 October 2023 (Lana) The Government of National Unity (GNU) decided to form a committee to study the legal situation of expatriate workers, headed by the Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior, Abdelhamid Touati.
The second article of the decision, which was issued under No. 439 of 2023 and bears the name of the PM, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, stipulates that the committee shall study the legal situation of expatriate workers and address the problem of their presence by giving them a time opportunity to settle their situations in accordance with the legislation in force, as the third article provides for the committee to seek the assistance of whomever it deems appropriate among the experts and to submit a report on the results of its work to the PM.
Article Four of the decision stressed the implementation of this decision from the date of its issuance and obligated the competent authorities to implement it.
It is noteworthy that the committee includes the Director of the Passport Investigation Department, Abdel Nasser Abu Gharara, a representative of the Anti-Illegal Immigration Service, Jamal Al-Bueishi, a representative of the Passports, Nationality, and Foreigners Affairs Service, Abu Al-Qasim Salem, the Director of the Employment Department at the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation, Ayman Balkhayrat, the Director of the Labor and Safety Inspection Department at the Ministry, Hamdi Al-Rayani, and the Director of the Office of Employment at the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation at the Ministry, Juma Al-Raqee.
