Al-Dabaiba discusses with the Italian ambassador economic cooperation and the opening of new air routes between the two countries.

Tripoli, October 8, 2023 (LANA) - Prime Minister of the National Unity Government, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, discussed on Sunday, with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, “Gianluca Alberini”, economic cooperation between the two countries, and follow-up on the opening of new air routes between Libya and Italy.

The Italian ambassador confirmed that Italian Airlines will launch its flights towards Tripoli at the end of next November as part of the company's winter plan, according to the Prime Minister's Media Office.

During the meeting, Dabaiba received an invitation from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to attend the Africa-Italy Conference scheduled to be held in Rome next November, due to its importance in consolidating the Libyan-Italian relationship.

The meeting also touched on following up on the procedures for holding a meeting at the level of the interior ministers of the two countries in Tripoli to discuss the results of the recent meetings in Rome regarding the issue of irregular migration and the mechanisms for organizing it.

The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Prime Minister and Cabinet Affairs Adel Gomaa, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Cabinet Office, Al-Taher Al-Baour, and government spokesman Mohamed Hamouda.
