Al-Tarmal discusses with the Russian ambassador ways to enhance the role of women in Libya.

Tripoli, October 3, 2023 (Lana): Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, discussed yesterday with the Russian Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aghanen, ways to enhance the role of women in political participation and local community development.

The two parties discussed bilateral cooperation in areas related to family and women,  the role of women, and their contribution to achieving peace and participation in building the country in all sectors and areas.

Al-Tarmal commended Russia’s position in support of Libyan women, stressing the importance of cooperation with Russia in the area of women’s empowerment and enhancing their participation in political, social, and economic life.

For his part, the Russian Ambassador stressed his country’s support for the Libyan women’s efforts to achieve equality and justice, highlighting that Russia is ready to cooperate with the Libyan government in this area.
