Pulbished on:Tripoli, September 28, 2023 (LANA) - The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, stressed during his meeting with the European Union Political and Security Committee the need to ensure accountability in managing recovery and reconstruction resources.
Batili said on his page on the X website: During the meeting that took place in Brussels, as part of my consultations with the European Union, I renewed the call for the international community to speak with one voice in support of holding elections and unifying Libyan institutions in order to achieve sustainable peace.
The UN envoy renewed his welcome for the long-term support provided by the European Union to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, expressing his appreciation for the individual and collective contributions of European Union countries to search, rescue and relief efforts.
"Batili" confirmed on his page on the (X) website that the political process and the effects of the storm "Daniel" that swept through the cities and villages of eastern Libya were discussed during the meeting.
