Libyan Mediterranean Sky Company announces the launch of a direct air line from Tripoli to Rome

Tripoli, September 27, 2023 (LANA) - Mediterranean Sky Airlines (MedSky) (one of the Libyan private sector companies) announced the start of operating direct flights from Tripoli to Rome after a 9-year hiatus.

The company said that next Saturday, September 30, it will begin operating two flights per week on Saturday and Wednesday from Amitiqa Airport to Fiumicino International Airport in the Italian capital, Rome.

The Italian government had lifted the air embargo imposed on Libyan civil aviation, according to a statement issued by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbaiba last July.

Al-Dbaiba said - in the statement - “The Italian government informed us of its decision to lift its air embargo imposed on Libyan civil aviation 10 years ago, so that flights will resume next September.”
