Souq Al-Khamis, September 23, 2023 (LANA) - The Municipal Council of Souq Al-Khamis-Mesihel, began on Wednesday the cleaning operations of the stream of Wadi Al-Mujainin and its facilities, which with the capacity estimating at 57 million cubic metres.
The mayor of the municipality, Al-Fitouri Shalfit, told the Libyan News Agency that the process includes the manual breather for the valley’s water, which is working well, as well as the electric one, which needs some maintenance.
The company in charge of the project began working to address the encroachments on the valley’s course and its branches, which are Al-Khorwa, Al-Barghouthiya, and the entire area of the valley’s sanctuary, which amounts to 400 hectares, up to the Bou-arqoub crusher.
Shalfit confirmed that the cleaning process came after the meeting held by the mayors of the municipalities of Greater Tripoli in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Government and the field visits made by the Undersecretary and the mayors of the municipalities to the targeted sites.
