Pulbished on:London, September 14, 2023 (LANA) - The United Kingdom announced the provision of an initial package worth one million pounds to support Libya in facing the effects of the flooding caused by the Mediterranean storm.
The British Foreign Office said in a statement that it is working with trusted partners on the ground to identify basic needs, including shelter and health care.
The British Foreign Office confirmed that the support provided will be directed to help the people most affected by the floods, including women, children and the displaced.
The Foreign Ministry statement referred to the United Nations’ announcement of providing $10 million in response to the floods from its Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), to which Britain is one of its largest donors.
