Al-Hawaij participates in the meeting of Arab foreign ministers in its 160th regular session.

Cairo, September 7, 2023  (LANA) - The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawaij, assigned to head the Libyan delegation, participated in the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of foreign ministers in its 160th session at the League’s headquarters in Cairo, Wednesday, which was held under the chairmanship of Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Morocco, and the current President of the League Council.

Al-Hawaij stressed the position of the State of Libya regarding the Palestinian issue through its firm stances in support of the Palestinian people. He also noted the need to improve the performance of the Arab League and develop it, so that it can take on a role that keeps pace with the changes and challenges that the world is going through today, stressing that the Libyan nation accepts partnership and does not accept guardianship.

Al-Hawaij stressed the need for the Arab League to have a fundamental role in stabilizing Libya and to work with it to reach transparent and fair parliamentary and presidential elections in accordance with the political agreement.

The meeting issued a number of decisions related to the process of joint Arab action and others related to developments in the situation in a number of Arab countries, in addition to a number of issues related to social, economic, legal and financial affairs.
