Chadian President visits the Tibesti border region with Libya.

N'Djamena, August 26, 2023 (Lana) The Chadian presidency announced on Saturday that the head of the Transitional Council, Mohamed Deby, will tour the city of Bardaï, in the border state of Tibesti with Libya, after he arrived there earlier.

Deby was received at the airport in Bardaï, the commander of the defensive zone (6), General Ibrahim Bokor, and the mayor of Bardaï, Ali Souqi Hassan.

The Chadian presidency stated in a statement that the visit comes within the framework of the national tour by the president in the depths of the country.

Deby arrived in Bardaï, Tibesti, from the military base "Courie 60" of the state after spending a week there.

The statement said that the president will discuss with the vital forces in the state the problems and challenges of development and issues of peace, security, and peaceful coexistence among the various segments.

The visit of the president comes hours after a military campaign was launched by the General Command of the Armed Forces to expel the Chadian opposition forces from the Libyan border territories with Chad.
