Italian Foreign Minister: We are concerned about the current fragmentation in the Libyan circles.

Tripoli, August 25, 2023 (LANA) - The Italian Foreign Minister, "Antonio Taiani," stressed the need to reach a political agreement to pave the way towards elections in Libya, expressing his concern about the current fragmentation in the Libyan circles.

Taiani; said in remarks published by the Italian news agency "Aki" that the stability of the situation in Libya is a top priority for his country's foreign policy.

"It is necessary to ensure that the Libyan institutions that will come through the elections have the necessary strength and legitimacy to ensure sustainable stability in the country," Taiani added.

The head of Italian diplomacy affirmed that his country will work to keep international attention high in terms of the expanded Mediterranean region and Africa, indicating that this step will be placed by Rome at the top of its priorities when it chairs the Group of Seven during the year 2024.
