Tripoli, August 21, 2023 (Lana): The Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Raisedon Zenenga, stressed the importance of finalizing an implementable legal framework to enable the elections in Libya.
This came during his meeting yesterday with the mayor of Zliten municipality, Muftah Hamady, to discuss the political and security situation in Libya, according to the UNMSIL on its Facebook page.
Zenenga stressed the need for Libyan stakeholders to reach an agreement on all contentious issues through inclusive dialogue.
"Zliten has a vital role in building social cohesion and reconciliation due to its diversity and position as a commercial center and home to diverse communities." Zenenga said.
Hamady pointed out his concern about worrying polarization trends.
