Tripoli, August 16, 2023 (LANA) - The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, "Josep Borrell", expressed the Union's concern about the armed clashes that took place in the capital, Tripoli, during the past two days.
In a statement issued today, Borrell urged all parties to continue to refrain from armed hostilities and engage in dialogue in order to calm the situation and restore calm.
It also called on all parties involved in the violence to fulfill their obligations under international humanitarian law and to ensure the protection of civilians.
