Al-Aqouri calls for the opening of the Indian consulate in Benghazi to facilitate travel procedures for citizens from the two countries.

Benghazi, August 10, 2023 (LANA) - The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Committee in the House of Representatives, "Youssef Al-Aqouri", demanded the opening of the Indian consulate in the city of Benghazi to facilitate travel procedures for citizens of the two countries.

       This came during his meeting with a delegation that included representatives of the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, headed by the Director of the Middle East and Asia Department, Braddeep Rajpurhit, and the Indian Ambassador, Ngolkham Gangti, at the headquarters of the Council's Bureau in Benghazi.

        Parliament spokesman Abdullah Blehaq said on his Facebook page today, Thursday, ((The two sides discussed the latest political developments, the work of the Electoral Laws Preparation Committee “6 + 6” and the importance of national reconciliation for holding presidential and parliamentary elections. They also discussed parliamentary cooperation and India’s long experience in the field of democracy and support the Libyan side with the techniques required to conduct the elections with integrity and transparency))

  Al-Aqouri stressed during the meeting the depth of relations between the two countries, and the Parliament's keenness to strengthen relations and cooperation with India in all fields, most notably agricultural, commercial and industrial, pointing to the importance of the Indian experience in development and its role as an influential country on the international scene, according to the same source.

For his part, "Rajpurhit" said that his country is keen to develop its relations with Libya in all fields to serve the common interest, support peace in the country and respect the will of the Libyan people.
