NOC: Eni, British Petroleum and Sonatrach lift force majeure from their exploration areas in Libya.
Pulbished on:Tripoli, August 03, 2023 (LANA) – The National Oil Corporation announced that it had received an official notification from the Italian companies Eni and British Petroleum regarding lifting the case of force majeure and resuming exploration activities and contractual obligations in the blocks granted to them in the Ghadames Basin (A-B) and the Marine C block.
In a statement, the Corporation confirmed that it had received an official notification from the Algerian company, "Sonatrach", to raise the force majeure, resume exploration activities and complete contractual obligations in the blocks granted to it (065 and 96/95) in the Ghadames basin, in response to the invitation of the National Oil Corporation last December to international operating companies. In the field of oil and gas, with which agreements were signed for exploration, sharing and production of oil and gas in Libya, to lift the declared force majeure on its part.
The Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation renewed its call to the rest of the companies that did not begin to lift the state of force majeure in their regions to resume their activities and contractual obligations, stressing that the Corporation will not be negligent in preserving the national interests of the Libyan state to achieve its vision of restoring Libya to its leading and effective role in the field of energy.
