Al-Dbaiba discusses preparations for the re-opening of the Ghadames border crossing with Algeria to citizens.
Pulbished on:Ghadames, August 3, 2023 (LANA) – The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Al-Dabaiba, visited today, Thursday, the Libyan-Algerian border, and was briefed on the progress of the situation at the Ghadames land port between the two countries.
The Department of Media and Government Communication stated that Al-Dabaiba discussed with the Ministers of Interior and Foreign Affairs, and the State for Cabinet Affairs, Communication and Political Affairs, with the Ghadames Customs Center, preparations for the reopening of the "Ghadames-Al-Dabdab" port for citizens after it was opened to commercial traffic.
The border crossings between Libya and Algeria were closed in 2011, and were partially reopened to residents of the border areas for the purpose of treatment and trade in 2015, before they were opened for commercial purposes last year.
