Libyan-Iranian talks in Tehran based on steps to resume diplomatic representation between the two countries.

Tehran, July 25, 2023 (LANA) - Libyan-Iranian talks were held in Tehran today, Monday, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Government of National Unity, "Naglaa Al-Manqoush," and her Iranian counterpart, "Hussein Amir Abdollahian", focused on steps to resume diplomatic representation and develop economic cooperation between the two countries.

The official page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation stated that the two sides agreed to resume the Libyan-Iranian joint committee to hold its meetings as soon as possible, to develop cooperation in the health and technical fields, to encourage exports and cooperation in the industrial field, and to exchange official visits.

Al-Mangoush confirmed during the session - according to the same source - the position of the State of Libya in support of the initiative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which enjoys the support of the Arab brothers to start a new phase of Arab-Iranian relations, on the basis of the common interests of the countries and peoples of the region.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and her accompanying delegation arrived today, Tuesday, in Tehran on an official working visit, which is the first for a high-level Libyan delegation to Tehran in 16 years.
