Libya and Palestine agree to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Tripoli, July 23, 2023 (Lana): Libya and Palestine agreed to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various areas, especially in the health area.

This came during a meeting between the Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister in Charge, Ramadan Abu-Janah, yesterday in Tripoli with a Palestinian delegation headed by the Assistant Foreign Minister, Emad Al-Zuhari.

The Ministry of Health stated on its Facebook page that the Palestinian delegation conveyed to "Abu-janah" the Palestinian Ministry of Health's readiness to partner and work with the GNU-Ministry of Health, exchange experiences, and benefit from Palestinian expertise working abroad.

The delegation also suggested sending some specialized medical cadres to perform surgeries, train Libyan cadres, and contribute to the development of the Libyan health sector in some specialties, including corneal transplantation, open heart operations, open heart surgery for children, and some other specialties, as well as in the operations of the pharmaceutical industry.

According to the same source, it was agreed to form a technical team between the two countries to determine priorities and agree on work mechanisms during the coming period. It was also decided to hold an expanded meeting between the directors of major hospitals in the two countries to determine important and urgent needs.

Al-Zuhari reported the instructions of the Palestinian leadership to the Ministry of Health to provide all support to the Libyan Ministry of Health and to conclude cooperation agreements between the two ministries.
