Abdullah Al-Lafi meets the head of the delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Libya.

Tripoli, July 16, 2023 (LANA) - The representative of the Presidential Council, "Abdullah Al-Lafi," affirmed the continued cooperation of the Presidential Council with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in the files of the missing and detainees, and work to overcome the difficulties it faces so that it can perform the tasks assigned to it in humanitarian work.

This came during his meeting today, Sunday, with the head of the committee's delegation to Libya, John Nicolas, and his accompanying delegation, on the occasion of the end of his term of office in Libya.

  Al-Lafi stressed in the meeting that the missing and detained file is one of the pillars of the national reconciliation project launched by the Presidential Council.

  In turn - according to the Presidential Media Office - Mr. Nicolas praised the cooperation of the Presidency Council with the committee during its period of work in Libya over the past years, and the success achieved by the Tripartite Commission on International Humanitarian Law in uncovering unidentified bodies and detainees, and assured Mr. Deputy of the opening of its permanent office in Tripoli.
