Al-Mishri discusses with the delegation of the AU High-Level Committee for Libya the arrangements for the inclusive national conference for reconciliation.

Tripoli, July 5, 2023 (Lana) The Head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al-Mishri, met yesterday in Tripoli with a delegation of the African Union High-Level Committee for Libya, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Congo-Brazzaville, Jean-Claude Jakoso, the special envoy of the Congolese president.

The meeting discussed the file on national reconciliation and the arrangements for holding the inclusive national conference for reconciliation, the participation of the HCS in this conference, and the nomination of a member of the council to participate in its preparatory meetings.

Al-Mishri stressed the need to accelerate this file and expand the communication cycle to all Libyan parties to reach inclusive solutions to the Libyan crisis and to hold successful elections that end the transitional stages and bring the country to a stage of permanent stability.

The delegation commended Al-Mishri's efforts in this file, his support for the committee, and his fast response to nominating a representative of the council to participate in the preparatory meetings for the conference. It also praised the results of the 6+6 Joint Committee meetings.

The delegation included the Director of the Office of the Chairperson of the Commission of the AU, Mohammed El-Labbad, and the Special Representative of the Chairperson of the Commission of the AU, Wahida Ayari.

The delegation delivered a written message to Al-Mashri from the Chairperson of the AU Commission, Moussa Faki.
